About

Book synopsis. Spoiler alert!

Andrew was born in 1994 in Croatia, the first child in his family. He grew up in the suburbs of Split, living what might seem like an ordinary childhood—yet there were subtle “glitches in the matrix.” Although he was a loved child, Andrew often felt alone and abandoned, yearning to be somewhere else—somewhere where the grass might be greener. A place where he wouldn’t break down in tears in front of his elementary school classmates for reasons he couldn’t explain.

In 2007, Andrew moved into the city of Split with his parents, brother, and sister. While he lost the familiar friendships from the suburbs, he gained a new joy in the form of a baby brother. Starting high school marked a fresh chapter—new people, new connections—but it also marked the beginning of a gradual descent into a world of vices.

That descent included smoking cigarettes and marijuana, along with frequent alcohol use. In both 2015 and 2016, Andrew went even further—illegally growing marijuana outdoors for two consecutive years without ever getting caught.

Andrew eventually became a heavy marijuana smoker. After narrowly avoiding trouble with the law multiple times, he began to wish—almost desperately—that he’d get caught with weed, just so it would force him to sober up.

In 2017, his wish came true when the police caught him, and the judge ordered him to go through a rehab program. Unfortunately, his brother, born in 2007, tragically took his own life by jumping from the 5th floor of the building they lived in. Andrew began to lose touch with reality, consumed by the desire to bring his brother back, while the rest of the family tried to move forward with their lives.

As Andrew became more involved in occult practices, diving deeper into conspiracy theories and magic, he began to experience early signs of psychosis, though he didn’t realize what was happening.

Around 2020, he seemed to drift away from reality, even starting to believe he could become God. One day, after a sleepless night fueled by a rush of dopamine, he went for a walk around Split.

He then stripped naked and took off running through the city streets. This led to his arrest and admission to a psychiatric hospital. There, Andrew began the difficult journey of learning to live without drugs and facing the painful recovery from psychosis

Even though Andrew still pondered life’s big questions like “Who are we?” and “Why are we here?”, he managed to live without being consumed by them. However, the persistent belief that Earth is a flat surface and literally Hell remained a constant in his thoughts.

Sometime in the 21st century, the world underwent a massive shift, becoming almost utopian. It was like Heaven had come down to Earth. For Andrew, this meant living alongside all the characters from his book, plus many other people.

Death simply stopped existing. He was reunited with loved ones he’d lost. It was a world of enormous trees, populated by naked people who felt no shame about their bodies.

Andrew found a way to live a truly fulfilling life, with the added benefit of being able to control fear, pain, and boredom. He came to understand that existence is cyclical and nothing is permanent.

He found himself returning to Hell a few times before going back to Heaven. After what felt like millions of years, he realized he was in some kind of limbo. Even though he never achieved his earlier belief of becoming God or actually met God, he did find his inner peace.
